For You and Your Pet, We Want Only the Best

The AAHA logo on our homepage represents our dedication to offering Mount Prospect and its surrounding communities a standard of care that far exceeds normal expectations. For us, being an animal hospital is not only about providing medicine but building lasting relationships within our community and giving the human-animal bond the respect it deserves. To ensure we're delivering on our promise, our team underwent extensive evaluations and training to become an AAHA-accredited hospital. Practices that are AAHA-accredited demonstrate their commitment to providing the highest-quality medicine and services without compromise.

What Does AAHA Accreditation Mean?

AAHA stands for the American Animal Hospital Association, the only accrediting body for small animal hospitals in the United States and Canada. AAHA was established in 1933 and since then, only 15% of all existing animal hospitals in North America have earned accreditation. In order to set the best possible standards, AAHA must maintain flexibility and keep abreast of the latest developments in veterinary medicine.

For us, being AAHA-accredited is not about being the best in relation to other small animal hospitals. It’s about realizing our true potential and always striving to improve because our patients and clients are more than worth the effort.

Maintaining Our Accreditation

Animal hospitals that become accredited must work hard to keep their accreditation. Every few years, practices are visited and evaluated by AAHA experts to ensure that they are performing up to standard. In total, over 900 different standards must be upheld for a practice to maintain its accreditation, and they fall into these categories:
